Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) 🔒

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your Hello Clever account, ensuring only you can access your account, even if someone else knows your password.

Why Enable 2FA?

Two-factor authentication significantly enhances your account security by requiring an additional code when logging in from unfamiliar devices.

By enabling 2FA, you'll protect your account from unauthorised access. We highly recommend enabling 2FA for all Hello Clever accounts.

Steps to Set Up 2FA

Follow these steps to enable 2FA on your Hello Clever account:

Step 1: Navigate to Account & Security

  1. Log in to your Hello Clever account.
  2. Click on your profile icon in the upper right corner.
  1. Select Account & Security from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Start 2FA Setup

  1. In the Account & Security section, locate Two-factor authentication.
  1. Click Set up to begin the 2FA process.

Step 3: Choose Your Security Method

You have two options for enabling 2FA:

  • Google Authenticator (Recommended): Use the Google Authenticator app to generate codes.
  • Text message (SMS): Receive codes via SMS.

Select your preferred option and click Next.

Step 4: Setting Up with Google Authenticator

If you selected Google Authenticator:

  1. Download the Google Authenticator app if you don’t have it already (available on App Store or Google Play).
  2. Scan the QR code displayed on the screen with the Google Authenticator app.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app in Hello Clever and click Next.

Step 5: Setting Up with SMS

If you selected Text message (SMS):

  1. Choose or add a phone number to receive the SMS codes.
  2. Enter the 6-digit confirmation code sent to your phone.
  3. Click Next to complete the setup.

Step 6: Confirming and Finalising 2FA Setup

Once you’ve entered the correct code, your 2FA will be active. Going forward, you’ll need to provide a 2FA code each time you log in from a new device.
